The Department of Pervasive Computing educates IT experts based on its scientific research knowledge. Areas of research include software engineering, usability, open-source environments, personal navigation, wireless sensor networks, multiprocessor systems, Internet architechtures and protocols and information security.
Job description:
The job involves scientific research in projects that are mostly executed by external funding. In addition, tasks related to education and courses offered by the department belong to candidate’s job description.
At the personal level, the main goal of the research is to compose a doctoral dissertation as part of a larger research group. The work will be supervised by more senior researchers and staff of the department, but independent attitude towards the work and research is expected.
Requirements: The successful candidate must hold an applicable higher university degree and have a research plan for the completion of a doctorate. The candidate must also either be a PhD student at TUT or apply for post-graduate studies at TUT. The candidate must have demonstrated, during his or her studies towards the higher university degree or otherwise, the competence and motivation to pursue postgraduate studies and complete a doctoral degree in accordance with the research plan.
