TU Braunschweig, Leibniz University Hannover and DLR together pursue the common vision of a safe, efficient and sustainable mobility for the future. To meet future mobility demands, the joint research project “Energy System Transformation in Aviation” defines scientific and technological foundations for a sustainable future global air transport system.
The overall project is structured into three core research areas, namely “Overall System Evaluation”, focusing on operation research, technology assessment, and life cycle analysis, “System Platforms” for new aircraft technologies in flight physics and aircraft structures, and “Energy Supply”, focusing on vehicle energy storage and conversion systems and full- and hybrid-electric aircraft drive systems. Following an initial conceptual phase of the project in which methods and interdisciplinary methods have been developed, we want to establish Junior Research Groups (JRG) in critical research fields of the core research areas. We search for JRG leads with a doctoral degree and a strong research background in their respective fields.
