Research Associate at Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences of the FORTH

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICEHT) is seeking applicants for one position of a research associate in the context of the research project “Graphene Core 2, GA: 785219”. The project is supported by EC-financed parts of the Graphene Flagship.

Requirements and Qualifications
- The candidates are required to hold a Materials/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering Diploma or a Diploma in Chemistry/ Physics and a PhD in either Engineering of Physical Sciences, with experience in project management and reporting, in tandem with a strong expertise in mechanical deformation of composite materials and characterization techniques such as Raman spectroscopy.
- Moreover, the candidates must be fluent in Greek and English in order to meet working conditions.
- The appropriate candidate should have: a) Strong expertise in the preparation and characterization of composite materials b) Experience in project management and reporting c) Research experience in an industrial environment d) Be able to lead teams e) A great scientific background in materials, especially in polymers and composites f) Strong know-how in the preparation and characterization of graphene (or related carbon based materials) and/or 2D related materials and/or nanomaterials g) Analytical thinking h) Strong personality and good communication skills i) Be a flexible and reliable person j) Be capable of autonomous working
