Job description
The Department of Robotics, Perception, and Learning (RPL) and Speech, Music, and Hearing (TMH) has a joint 5-year project called Factories of the Future (FACT). Within this, robots are developed that can assist people working in the manufacturing industry. We are now looking for one or several postdocs to conduct research and development work within the project in one of the following areas
- Development of modules for controlling two-armed robots, such as YuMi.
- Human-robot interaction studies with YuMi and the social robot Furhat
An important part of the work is to publish scientific articles at highly rated international conferences and journals in robotics and HRI.
Qualifications
We are looking for people who have experience in robot programming and have documented experience of conducting advanced human-robot interaction studies. Applicants must hold or be about to receive a doctoral degree in a subject relevant to the research, such as automatic control, computer science, speech technology or cognitive science. The doctoral degree must have been obtained within the last three years from the application deadline (some exceptions for special grounds, for instance, sick leave and parental leave). Applicants should have a strong background in at least one of the following areas of robotics, speech technology or computer science. The position requires good knowledge of programming, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
The successful applicant should have an outstanding research and publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who is able to work independently. Good command of English orally and in writing is required to present and publish research results.
