The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit science and technology institution based in Cyprus and led by an acclaimed Board of Trustees. Reporting to the Head of Accounts and Finance, the selected candidate will be a member of the Finance and Accounts Department with primary responsibility the Financial management of competitive research grants and projects secured by the Institute (mainly from the EU).
Qualifications:
- Holder of a relevant Master’s degree or relevant Professional Qualification in Accounting & Finance
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience (e.g. accounting or finance departments, accounting or audit firms)
- Previous experience and/or specialization into management of EU Funded Projects will be considered an advantage
- Previous experience in an academic or research environment will be considered an advantage.
- IT literate, with excellent knowledge of in MS Office and particularly Excel as well as the ability to quickly familiarize in the use of new software and systems. Experience in using Accounting software will be considered an advantage
- Ability to multitask changing priorities with limited supervision in a high-pressure work environment with strict reporting deadlines
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adopt to a multicultural /multinational environment
- High level of organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of oral and written English/Greek language.
