The Tilburg Graduate Law School (TGLS) of Tilburg Law School is committed to training top law students from around the globe whose academic work helps solve today's societal problems, to address new legal challenges and to become excellent researchers. The mandate of TGLS is to ensure and monitor the overall quality of the Research Master and PhD programs. TGLS is responsible for the training and guidance of its Research Master students and PhD researchers. TGLS is now looking for 6 ambitious PhD researchers. The positions will be starting as from September 1 2018. The final start date will be decided in mutual agreement with the PhD candidate and supervisor.
Requirements
You are an outstanding student, with an excellent command of English and who has completed (or will complete by the end of the August) a Master in Law or a Master in adjacent fields like Law and Economics, Law and Technology, Law and Labour Law, Politics and Public Administration or Victimology. Research Master’s program students are especially encouraged to apply.
The candidate has a strong interest in doing research and is able to formulate views, ideas and concepts based upon complex information, as well as construct conceptual frameworks or models. With your excellent writing and presentation skills, you can easily transfer your conducted knowledge to all kinds of target groups.
Good planning and organizing skills are necessary to complete your PhD research in the total period of time. You must be able to plan your activities and set goals and priorities. Acting to monitor and check the progress made on research activities must be done in the Doctoral Training and Supervision Plan. The Tilburg Graduate Law School (TGLS) and your promotor(s) provide help and guidance in this process.
Finally, you are flexible, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
