IES Ltd. is looking for:

1. a creative UI Designer who can take concept directions and develop style guides, images and UI for new software products both desktop and web based. The role will involve being responsible for UI development,
user testing, integration with corporate marketing strategy and will involve working with product owners. The role requires experience with hands-on UI development in conjunction with developers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Creation of product style guides
Working with product owners to develop ideas for desktop, web and dashboard products
Working with marketing to ensure a consistent brand image / message
Working with R&D and specification teams to deliver new prototypes and products
Contributing to brainstorming for product under development
Creation of product design proposals
Writing specifications
Carrying out UI user testing with potential users
Developing UI directly in conjunction with developers
Report writing for project deliverables
Presentation to senior management
Overlap with the company’s UX process
The role may involve travel within the EU

The Candidate Essential:

Bachelor’s degree
3-5 year’s UI/UX experience
Adobe CS, In-Design, Photoshop
Sketch of equivalent
Ability to quickly generate prototypes and mock-ups and translate them in
clear specifications for developers
HTML, CSS
A thorough understanding and proven track record of user wants and needs
Excellent communication skills and a creative approach to problem solving
Ability to work with and without a team and across different teams
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to manage own time & set priorities

Desirable:

QT / Visual Studio, MS Visio
Ability to work as part of a team under an AGILE methodology structure
TFS experience
Sharepoint experience

2. an experienced User Experience (UX) designer to help with the design of a series of new products to be launched over the next 24 months. You will be responsible for all tasks associated with user research
and design on both large and small scale solutions working independently on a solution or with a team of software developers. You will be responsible for the development of workflow and design for these products ensuring usability of the solution for IES customers.

The role includes the following:
Produce user requirements specifications, conceptual models, personas, storyboards/scenarios, flow charts, conceptual sketches, wireframes, design prototypes, and design specifications.
Work with and as required manage graphic visual designers, design researchers, developers and architects to ensure UX and UI designs ensuring graphic based resources are delivered.
Work in a multidisciplinary team using agile approaches Leadership of user experience across IES products
Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationale both verbally and visually to stakeholders and team members
Perform user research and observation of user tasks, integrating these findings with business requirements
Interface with key stakeholders, including clients, management, and architecture, to iteratively refine and improve designs to create the most appropriate possible user experience

The Candidate Essential Skills:
Bachelors degree any of the following: HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, UX Design, and/or related fields
At least 3 years’ experience in User research including developing user requirements, user scenario's, user stories, etc. and Usability Requirements
At least 3 years’ experience in Interaction design for Desktop/Web/Mobile interfaces, and User evaluation
Demonstrable UX design experience with a strong portfolio of products that have been brought to market
The ability to understand client needs and rapidly develop and propose practical yet innovative solutions
Display teamwork and persuasive interpersonal communications skills
Demonstrated application of user interface design principles and the user-centred design process, including user research techniques, both in creating designs and discussing design decisions with the product team
Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML, JavaScript and
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) used to deliver feasible designs
Demonstrated storytelling and presentation skills
Creative thinker
Ability to self-direct and desire for continual learning and personal development

Desirable Skills
Experience in Agile and Scrum
Have some knowledge of sustainability/built environment/energy sector
