17-29/09/2019 - Tirana Design Week (Tirana, Albania)

This year, Tirana Design Week reaches its fourth edition, and it’s aimed at promoting international knowledge linked to practice and research activities, starting from the Albanian context and reaching out to the international scene. The challenge of this edition, entitled | Foreseeing Uncertainty: Design & the Non-Normativity, is to address the issues related to design speculations in times of Uncertainty and Non-Normativity, exploring contemporary research activities and design tactics that deal with the topic from different perspectives and within different fields of interest, directly or indirectly related to design, architecture, urban studies, sociology, environmental research, engineering, education and pedagogy.

One of the main events organized in the framework of Tirana Design Week 2019 is the International Scientific Conference, whose goal is to gather researchers, academics and professionals in order to reflect on the main issues that inevitably raise doubts about the endurance of design, while conspicuously evincing the fluctuating tendency of what constitutes a norm in a world continuously oscillating between what is desired or imagined as an endogenous equilibrium and exogenous menaces. The conference will take place in Tirana from the 19th to the 22nd of September, 2019.
