The Laboratory for Electrochemical Energy Systems in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering is inviting applications for PhD positions in electrochemical energy storage and conversion (generally defined).
Project background
Our group targets challenges related to the development of the new solutions to satisfy the growing demand for energy. We study fundamental processes in solutions, materials and at the electrode-electrolyte interfaces. We then apply this fundamental knowledge to the development of new battery materials, electrocatalysts and electrolytes that can deliver improved performance (i.e. charging times, energy, capacity, cycling stability), cost, efficiency and safety.
Job description
This full-time position offers students an excellent opportunity to delve into energy science and gain deep fundamental knowledge of electrochemical processes and materials chemistry. Successful candidates will join inclusive, non-discriminating and supportive working environment that praises scientific curiosity and creativity. Tentative starting date is Winter 2020 or later. Applications are accepted until the positions are filled.
