Aalto University is looking for highly motivated researchers and students to join the multinational and multidisciplinary team to make a great impact in how the human brain can be stimulated and treated with AI-controlled closed-loop magnetic stimulation.
The goal of the ConnectToBrain* project is to develop next-generation multi-locus transcranial magnetic stimulation techniques that allow to shift the locus (site in the brain) of the stimulation electronically and the algorithms to stimulate brain networks in a feedback-controlled way. This European Research Council (ERC) Synergy project is conducted as a close collaboration between Aalto University, Finland, University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy, and University of Tübingen, Germany.

Aalto University is looking for exceptional candidates to participate e.g. in the following tasks:
Designing and building multilocus TMS (mTMS) coil arrays that will eventually cover most of the cortical mantle and will allow accurate real-time control of the location, direction, intensity and timing of millisecond-time-scale sequences of brain-activating pulses.
Designing and programming the mTMS user-interface software and the interface of this software to the stimulation hardware and to the software for signal analysis and AI control systems.
Algorithms for brain connectivity and real-time brain activity estimation based on high-density EEG and MRI for brain-state-dependent and closed-loop transcranial magnetic stimulation.
