iMapp Bucharest, one of the biggest video-mapping events in the world, is currently accepting work for its 2015 international projection mapping competition. 2015 will see the second edition of iMapp Bucharest coming to life. In 2014, Bucharest celebrated 555 years from the first recorded mention of the city. Among the events that were held with this occasion was one of the biggest architectural video mapping shows in the world using the most impressive projection surface in Romania – the facade of the Parliament Palace, the 2nd largest building in the world after Pentagon, USA. International artists are invited to create 4 minute 30 second long projection mapped animations to the theme of “The Elements” (earth, wind, fire and water) adapted to the façade of Palace of Parliament, Bucharest, Romania harmonizing with the architecture, and accompanied by music. The animations will be projected on 19 September 2015, in front of a jury and a live audience.
Eligibility
The competition is free of charge and is open to all natural and legal persons regardless of their profession, age, sex, citizenship or residence, people can enter the competition either individually or as a team. Natural persons under the age of 18 must obtain the prior consent of their legal guardian to enter the competition. When entering the competition as a team one person should be appointed as contact person who will solely be responsible for communication with the organizers. One person can enter the competition in one team only. The competition is open to both professionals and amateurs.
Prizes
Out of all participants six artists will be selected and each will receive 16,000 Euro for the production of their video work, to prepare it for the live competition. The six chosen artists can represent themselves by two persons whom the accommodation and transportation will be arranged. Moreover, a Jury award and an Audience award of 5,000 Euro each will be awarded on 19 September 2015, during a live event in Bucharest.
