Applications are sought for Ad Astra Fellows within the UCD School of Chemistry.
In support of the 2024 University College Dublin Strategic Plan ‘Rising to the Future’, UCD has begun an ambitious plan to increase our faculty numbers by 500 over five years. With an initial 5-year contract, research support for these 5 years and the opportunity for an on-going contract subject to performance, there has never been a better time to join the faculty at Ireland’s Global University and to live in one of Europe’s most vibrant, friendly and connected capital cities.
The School of Chemistry is located within the modern UCD Science Centre, with access to highly equipped laboratories and facilities, bringing together a vibrant community of students and researchers. The School is a significant contributor to the suite of science-based undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes offered at UCD. In addition, the School has a long-established track record in research and innovation in molecular science hosting staff with expertise in the fields of Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology and Nanoscience. This contributes to a dynamic environment that fosters excellence in both learning and research. Our staff also maintain strong links with indigenous and multinational pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical devices, electronics, and materials companies located in Ireland which help stimulate entrepreneurship, support technology transfer and facilitate effective education and innovation partnerships. The School welcomes applications from talented, motivated individuals that wish to join our team and contribute to these activities.
