International Contest “Kazakhstan in the Eyes of Foreign Media”, 2015

The Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, has announced a contest to find the best articles on Kazakhstan written by foreign journalists. The main task of the contest under the title Kazakhstan in the Eyes of Foreign Media is to promote journalists worldwide to create and spread in international Media high quality and objective information about economic, life style, culture, art and diversity of modern Kazakhstan. Articles should cover one or more of following areas relating to Kazakhstan:

- Economy and trade;
- Culture and customs;
- History;
- Tourism;
- Social (human dimension).

Eligibility
The contest is open to journalists from South and North America, Australia and Oceania, Europe, Near and Middle East, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries and Asia.

Prizes
One winner will be selected from each region. The winners will have the opportunity to embark on a special tour in Kazakhstan, which will include the capital Astana, Almaty and Borovoe resort. During the tour the winners in Astana will be organized a visit to major historical and cultural sights of the city – the Opera, Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera” and the National Space Centre with a demonstration of the Mission Control Centre Kazakhstani satellites KazEOSat- 1 , KazEOSat- 2. In Almaty will be also organized a visit to major cultural and historical sights of the city, a trip to the ” Big Almaty Lake” and a dinner in a restaurant. Flights, hotel accommodation and transport across the country will be covered. Furthermore, winners will have the opportunity to meet with Kazakhstan officials, experts and journalists, as well as representatives of science and culture.
