R&D Software Engineer at the Media Networks Laboratory of NCSR “Demokritos"

The Media Networks Laboratory of NCSR “Demokritos" is one of the leading research labs in the country in the fields of networking and telecommunications. The lab employs high-qualified research personnel and has been active for almost two decades in a number of national and European research projects (either as a partner or coordinator).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated software engineer to contribute to innovative developments in the frame of European research projects in the fields of IT and telecom. The successful candidate will undertake the design and development of software components in experimental network testbeds, the coordination of experiments and the contribution to scientific publications.

Required qualifications:
- University BSc degree (in IT or telecommuncations)
- At least two years professional experience in software development
- Expertise in:
-- Java
-- Python
-- C/C++
-- Web development (HTML/CSS/PHP/Javascript)
-- Databases (relational and non-relational)
- Expertise in Linux administration and development
- Good knowledge of network technologies and L3-L7 protocols
- Proficiency in Greek and English
- Ability to contribute to and edit technical reports and deliverables
- Ability to travel abroad
- Ability to work in teams, think critically and take initiatives

Desired qualifications:
- MSc degree
- Previous involvement in research projects
- Mastering of agile development methodologies
- Experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, ELK etc.)
- Experience in Software-Defined Networks
