he European Regional Master’s in Democracy and Human Rights in South-East Europe is a full time, interdisciplinary program covering broad range of issues related to democracy and human rights in this region. The program lasts for one year, awarding the students with 60 ECTS and a double-degree diploma. The Master Program is intended for students that wish to combine scientific studies with practical and field research experience in human rights and democratization issues. ERMA is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach recognizing that human rights are a crosscutting theme among different disciplines of study, such as political science, social sciences, law and philosophy. Enrolled students have the benefit of studying in a highly international environment together with colleagues from all over the region, European Union and the world, attending lectures and workshops held by more than 40 professors from 11 partner Universities. The Master Program promotes development and realization of young generation of officials for state management, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, for universities and think-tanks in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo as well as in the countries belonging to the EU, the rest of Europe, and worldwide.
ERMA’s academic offer is divided in three terms:
- During the first term, students follow courses in Sarajevo taught by professors from participating university members within the EBIN ‘’International Network Europe and the Balkans’’ and are supervised by three academic tutors;
- In the second term, students participate in seven-week internships at selected IGOs, NGOs, think tanks and research institutes working in the field of human rights and democracy across South East Europe;
- During the third term, students focus on finalizing their Master’s Theses in Italy, accommodated at the CEUB ‘’University Residential Center of Bertinoro’’.
