English semesters in Natural Sciences, University of Sassari, Italy (2015-2016)

The English Semesters in Natural Sciences (ESNS) include the teaching offer for International students hosted at DIPNET, related to the Bachelor course in Natural Sciences (http://scienzenaturali.uniss.it/organiz/corsoSN.html) and to the Master course in Environmental and Land Management (http://scienzenaturali.uniss.it/organiz/corsoGAT.html).

Even if NOT all the subjects will be adhering to ESNS, we are pleased to announce that for the academic year 2015-16 nineteen subjects will be taught in a bilingual way (English/Italian), for a total of 127 ECTS.

Some of the subjects are compulsory for Italian students, others are optional and will change in future years.

Each course adhering to ESNS should respect the following requirements:
1) The PROGRAMME of the course is available and constantly updated in the online and paper versions, both in English and Italian;
2) The STUDY BOOKS suggested by the lecturers, in Italian and English, should be on student’s disposal in the DIPNET Library and/or in the lecturer’s office.
3) The lecturers teach CLASSROOM LESSONS in English with Power Point slides in Italian, or teach in Italian with slides in English;
4) PRACTICAL EXERCISES OR LAB ACTIVITIES, when scheduled, will be taught in English with integrations in Italian;
5) SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIAL (articles, web-sites) will be furnished both in English and Italian;
6) Lecturers are willing to establish UNOFFICIAL CONTACTS with incoming students in English, by means of telephone calls, e-mails, Skype video-calls;
7) The EXAM(S) could be taken both in English and Italian following the students’ request; the incoming students can opt for written or oral exam;

The incoming students are invited to include in their mobility period also the exam sessions (1-28 February 2016 for First Semester; 10 June – 10 July for Second Semester).
