The Algatech Centre, Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, is an
internationally recognised centre for basic and applied research on microalgae, cyanobacteria and photosynthetic bacteria, funded in 1960 in Třeboň, Czech Republic. Research in the Laboratory of Photosynthesis is focused on the physiology and biophysics of photosynthesis. We are currently looking to recruit one Postdoc to join our group for the recently funded projects on the physiology of marine N2 fixing cyanobacteria:
This project aims to understanding the regulation mechanism of N2 fixation of ecologically important unicellular diazotrophs. We are looking for a motivated Postdoc who will develop and apply new techniques in our group to analyze regulation mechanism of N2 fixation activity. A PhD in Biological or Chemical Sciences with a focus on Plant Physiology, Microbiology or related fields, as well as a profound interest in algal physiology are required. Experience in molecular biology, especially bioengineering, protein biochemistry in plant or microalgae is preferred. Funding is available until the end of 2022, subject to satisfactory progress after initial period. For questions on this position, please contact Dr. Takako Masuda (takako@alga.cz) or Prof. Ondřej Prášil (prasil@alga.cz, group leader). To apply, please send a motivation letter, CV and two reference letters (or contact details for referees) to Dr. Takako Masuda (takako@alga.cz) and Prof. Ondřej Prášil (prasil@alga.cz) by November 15th.
