Two three-year PhD fellowships on the project “FarmMERGE – the relationship between farmer health and work environment, and the health, animal welfare and productivity of their animals” are available at the Faculty of biosciences and aquaculture (Steinkjer) from April 1st 2021. For the right candidate a four-year position, which also includes 25% teaching, supervision and/or administrative duties, may be possible.
The farmer is the single most important factor of good livestock health and welfare. The connections between human and animal health are complex, as are the bonds between animal and owner. In FarmMERGE, we will investigate the connections between the health and work environment of farmers, and the health and welfare of their livestock.
