The successful EngD candidate will work in a position financed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency’s LIFE programme to design at full-scale, an integrated water treatment, storage, and disinfection solution for stormwater that meets quality standards for large volume, close-contact non-potable application in the urban context. Water recovered through city block-scale storage and recovery schemes will be post-treated to remove pathogens using state of the art disinfection technology and made available in the city centers of two European cities to support architectural adaptations for urban green within the built environment. The position is embedded within the research project GreenLED Rainwater Reuse, having the Delft Startup FieldFactors in the lead.
You will contribute to the development, design, and engineering of two circular water management installations which combine rainwater harvesting, biofiltration and aquifer storage with low energy-use, high efficiency disinfection technology to be implemented in public space.
You will work as part of a multi-partner consortium with various partners and stakeholders including companies, knowledge institutions, water regulators, urban planners and municipal partners.
