The NATO Headquarters (HQ) organise an internship programme, to provide a small number of current or recent students with the opportunity to gain experience at NATO.

There is one call for applications per year, in Spring, with two starting dates, in September and March the following year. Internships will in principle last between 6 and 8 months.

Internships are offered in the NATO Divisions

CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, offers 10-month period of in-service training (stage) for young university graduates but also to PhD students, without excluding those who are at the beginning of a new professional career.

Timing and duration of traineeships
There is one trainee intake per year that lasts 10 months, starting in October.
