he 2018 Regional Restoration Camps will provide participants with engaging lectures and hands-on experience with restoration, conservation and historic crafts, using traditional materials and techniques, as well as with the interpretation of cultural heritage sites and museums. During each Camp, participants will follow a rigorous but very fulfilling schedule, which combines theory – through lectures and presentations – with exercises and physical work on historic monuments and artifacts in different locations around the region.

The main aim of the summer school is to provide a critical analysis about urban attractiveness from different perspectives: Economics, Sociology, Urban Planning and Cultural Management. Key issues that will be examined are: location theories, cultural capitals, mobility, housing, night time economy, tourism and citizenship. Internationally well-known experts will share their knowledge and views with the students on these topics.

The works of Joseph Beuys, made with the use of organic material, degrade in time; Pier Paolo Calzolari instead uses stabilized natural materials. The works of Anselm and Wolfgang Laib require daily maintenance; the complex installations by Dieter Roth can only be reactivated by his son, Ernesto Neto, to whom he hands the work with instructions to install it.

Bio-based economy (Bioeconomy) aims at reducing the dependence from fossil fuels and finite materials without overexploiting natural resources. According to the definition of the European Commission “Bioeconomy encompasses those parts of economy that use renewable biological resources from land and sea to produce food, biomaterials, bioenergy and bioproducts”. Behind bioeconomy there is much science related to industrial biotechnology and a deep change in Economics and Politics, as well as societal issues.
