We have two open positions for motivated bioinformatics/computational biology researchers interested in RNA Genomics and Bioinformatics. One position is for a Postdoctoral Fellow, and the other is for a Research Associate.
Our lab uses molecular biology, genomics, and computational approaches to study RNA biology, focusing on alternative polyadenylation, mRNA degradation, localization, and translation. We are especially interested in RNA regulation in stem cells and cancer. Successful candidates will collaborate extensively with experimental scientists. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also be able to carry out his/her own experiments independently or collaboratively with wet lab researchers in the lab.
Candidates for the Postdoctoral Fellow position should have a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field. Candidates for the Research Associate position should have a M.S. degree (or B.S. with >3 years of working experience) in the aforementioned fields. Both positions require proficiency in Linux/UNIX, PERL, R/MatLab, and database systems. Knowledge of statistics is required, and experience with RNA research is a strong plus.
