Online Seminar on Women and Gender in Science: "Gendered structures, practices and representations in science and the knowledge society"

The three-day online seminar will focus on gender imbalance in science and cover a broad range of approaches to better understand how imbalance persists, and how it can possibly be changed. The participants will be introduced to the existing research literature, and topics that will be highlighted include how to achieve change through policies and actions; the gendered imaginaries and representations of academic careers; as well as the implications of gender imbalance for society, particularly with reference to information society and smart technologies.

The seminar will be conducted by a group of researchers from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture at NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology who have long standing research interests in the topic of gender balance in academia.
