Recently, the Australian Research Council (ARC) has awarded several major grants to award-winning researchers based at UWA's School of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, These include an ARC Discovery Project, an ARC Linkage Project and an ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre named The Australian Centre for LNG Futures. To execute these industry-focused research programs, applications for several post-doctoral research fellow positions are sought from dynamic and capable candidates with excellent communication skills.
These are full time fixed term positions initially for 2 years to work on research projects with the expected timeframe for completion of up to 5 years. The research projects that appointees in these positions will help conduct include: measurement and prediction of high-pressure fluid mixture properties, measurement and prediction of gas hydrate formation and transport, NMR/MRI measurements of fluid composition and rheology, rheological studies of emulsions or dispersions, measurements and modelling of gas adsorption, and/or novel technologies for separating high pressure fluid mixtures.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- A PhD (or nearly completed) in a discipline relevant to chemical and process engineering, oil & gas engineering, physics, or chemistry.
- Relevant research experience at an appropriate level in one of the following fields: thermodynamics, hydrodynamics, gas hydrates, rheology, NMR/MRI, mechatronics, adsorption, CCS, or gas separations.
- Experience in preparing manuscripts for publication and giving presentations at conferences.
- Experience supervising and training postgraduate and undergraduate research students.
- Experience in interacting with people from the industry.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
