What are the real needs, visions and aspirations of young people when it comes to employment? We made a research and we found them! And now we aim to "Reconstruct youth employment" by offering this training course and building your competences!
Around 5 million young people (under 25) were unemployed in the EU-28 area in November 2015.This represents an unemployment rate of 20% and it is twice as high as the adult unemployment rate.
As youth workers, our mission is to eavesdrop on the needs of the young people and strive to address them through our activities. But what are the real needs of the young people when it comes to employment? What are their visions and aspirations? Which support measurements will have a real impact on their employability and what topics should we address when implementing activities for young people? In order to give answer to these questions, we joined forces with partners from various countries and conducted a pan-European research with an aim to identify the real needs of young people when it comes to employment. We prepared online questionnaires and received answers from more than 450 young people and youth workers all over EU! The analysis of the results illustrated 3 crucial elements for the employment of young people, for which both young people and youth workers agree.
In order to address youth employment young people need to
- Learn how to translate their experiences into competences
- Find the right job for them, despite their studies
- Feel empowered and confident about finding a job.
Based on these results, we developed the project “We reconstruct employment”! By taking part in this training course, you will have the chance to explore the real needs and aspirations of young people when it comes to their employment and build your competences in addressing them!
The aim of the project is to train the youth workers to support the employability of young people. The objectives of the project are:
- To explore tools that translate young people’s experiences into competences
- To equip the youth workers with instruments that help young people to find the right job for them, despite their studies
- To work with the topic of self-empowerment and confidence when finding a job.
