The Department of Psychology is a large and creative workplace with education in psychology at all levels, from the first to the third cycle. Over 1,000 students take part in our various courses and programmes, including the psychologist programme, the psychotherapist programme, specialist education, master’s programmes, a PhD programme and more. The Stockholm University Psychology Clinic is our own psychotherapy reception with different specializations. We host successful research in a variety of fields, and our researchers belong to one of our six research divisions.
Project description
We are announcing two to four PhD student positions in psychology within specific subjects (i.e., project positions). The specified project positions will be associated with the following four projects:
Project position 1:
Virtual reality and psychological treatment.

Effects of behavioral tracking systems in the prevention of problem gambling.

Qualification requirements
In order to meet the general entry requirements, the applicant must have completed a second-cycle degree, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 higher education credits, of which 60 credits must be in the second cycle, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or elsewhere.
In order to meet the specific entry requirements, the general syllabus for doctoral studies in the field of psychology stipulates that applicants must have completed at least 90 first-cycle or second-cycle higher education credits in psychology, have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or elsewhere. Those studies should include a thesis corresponding to a minimum of 15 credits.
Only a person who will be or has already been admitted to a third-cycle programme may be appointed to a doctoral studentship. The primary assessment criteria in appointing a doctoral student should be the capacity to benefit from the training.
