PhD Scholarships, University of Bristol, UK (2016-2017)

Applications are invited from UK/EU students with, or expecting to gain, a first or upper second class honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or similar numerate discipline to join the CDT in Communications integrated 4-year PhD programme.

The Centre for Doctoral Training in Communications works closely with over 25 companies to undertake cutting-edge applied and theoretical research, combined with bespoke training, in the field of communications to train the next generation of communications engineers to work in industry or academia.

Students are integrated into research groups investigating topics on wireless communications, networks, RF technologies, vehicular connectivity, mathematics, video and communications related areas.

• Transferable skills training to increase employability

A topic for the PhD will be selected towards the end of the first year and will normally build on the first year’s individual research project. Students choose their PhD projects from a wide range of proposals, most of which are collaborative with industry.
