The MIROR network aims at creating, in Europe, an innovative and ambitious multidisciplinary intersectoral joint doctoral training programme dedicated to Methods in Research on Research in the field of clinical research. "Research on Research" is an emerging new scientific discipline that aims to reduce waste in research and increase research value.
MIROR is recruiting 15 PhD students to be trained to become the future generation of European researchers who will revolutionise clinical research and improve public health.
Each recruited PhD student will be offered a 3-year Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship and be employed full time for three years starting in September or October 2016.
This joint doctoral programme on Methods in Research on Research (MIROR) in clinical research will train students via high-level individual personalised research projects with important exposure to other academic and non-academic sectors.
MIROR brings together 7 world-class research teams (University Paris Descartes, University of Amsterdam, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, CNRS, University of Ghent, University of Liverpool, University of Split); 6 non-academic partners involved in diverse sectors, and 4 major academic partners. Non-academic partners include a large European clinical research infrastructure (ECRIN), an international organisation involved in preparing, maintaining and disseminating systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare (Cochrane), a developer of clinical practice guidelines (NICE), publishers and editors of scientific journals (BMC and BMJ) and a small enterprise providing training and undertaking research (Sideview). Academic partners involve an international network working to improve the quality of research (EQUATOR Network), University Paris-Saclay and two major North-American players (METRICS and OHRI).
