Anatolia is seeking an individual to fill the position of Anatolia Elementary School (AES) English Department Coordinator who will oversee the implementation of the AES English program, starting in September, 2016.
The AES English Department Coordinator reports to the Principal of the Anatolia Elementary School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the implementation of the AES English Program on:
Instruction
Class scheduling
Teaching materials and curriculum
Horizontal and vertical scope and sequence
Collaboration with Greek department
Communication with parents
2. Liaise with Anatolia administration
Collaborate with:
Members of AES administrative team
AES administrative council
Director of English after school program
IT administrator
3. Select and order textbooks and educational supplies:
Review and select textbooks and teaching materials in consultation with AES English teaching staff
4. Supervision of instruction:
Visit classrooms
Evaluate, guide, and support staff
5. Support reading as a core element of the AES English Program:
Coordinate with librarians to establish and expand elementary English library program
6. Develop support/enrichment for AES English Program:
Plan, lead, and collaborate in wide range of in-school and after school activities that support and enrich English language acquisition in meaningful and enjoyable ways
7. Professional development:
Schedule professional development activities for AES English faculty
8. Communication within the AES community:
Establish regular communication with AES community in collaboration with Public Relations Director, Marketing Director, and Executive Assistant
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:
Required:
- BA/MA degree in English language
- Teaching license/certification to teach in Greece
- Administrative experience
Preferred:
- Experience teaching English in the U.S.
- Experience and/or training in communicative, interactive teaching
- First-hand knowledge of American culture
- Native speaker of English
- Experience in directing extra-curricular school activities
Military Service
