As part of a joint research effort between TUM and SAP located at the TUM campus in Freising near Munich, we are looking to fill two positions for PostDocs or PhD students in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology who have a strong background or interest in machine learning and its application in proteomics, genomics and biomedical research. The successful candidates will be key members of a strong interdisciplinary team focused on the development and application of proteomic and genomic approaches to cellular signaling, chemical biology and biomarker discovery in the area of cancer research and personalized medicine.
MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Informatics or a related discipline. Experience in a proteomics or genomics laboratory is desirable. Extensive theoretical knowledge of and practical skills in statistical analysis, relational database technology, programming and scripting are essential. Additional desirable skills include a sound understanding of proteomic and genomic technologies as well as biological and chemical concepts.
We are looking for self-motivated and broadly interested individuals with high potential. Flexibility and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment on multiple scientific and infrastructure projects focused on innovative scientific ideas are essential. Good communication and interpersonal skills and experience in presenting concepts and data in oral and written formats are also important.
