- Policy Officer
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of the European asylum and migration procedures and systems and relevant case law.
- Strong knowledge of the Greek legal framework as regards refugee and migrant issues and relevant case law and the Greek asylum service system as well.
- Strong knowledge of child rights and international humanitarian law.
- Strong experience of policy analysis on humanitarian issues.
- Strong experience of working in child rights or development issues, notably related to children on the move.
- Experience of influencing and policy work including lobbying, policy development and information provision in humanitarian issues.
- Experience of working with research institutions and consultants.
- Excellent analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative. Experience of and strong skills in developing and implementing humanitarian advocacy policy.
- Understanding of UN and donor operations at country level.
- Fluency in Greek and eligibility to work in Greece.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in working with multicultural teams.
- Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
- Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
- Strong planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong research, policy development and writing skills.
- Good attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Prior policy experience working in an emergency response contexts
- Completed advanced university degree in law
