Young people worldwide, from 18 to 30 years old (on 15th November 2016), are invited to create a three-minute video in one of the following categories:
- Climate action: explaining how participants’ activities have helped to address climate change.
- Public awareness: showcasing participants’ efforts to raise public awareness around climate change.
The video file must be sent to biomovies@tve.org.uk using the WeTransfer.com website. The videos may be recorded in any language, but English subtitles must be provided.
A shortlist of videos selected by a judging panel including representatives from UNDP, UNFCCC and tve will be selected and posted online.
The competition, which is run by Television for the Environment (tve) and is part of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Action for Climate Empowerment and Momentum for Change initiatives, will culminate in a high-profile awards ceremony in November 2016 at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP22) in Marrakech, Morocco.The winner in each category, the film which receives the most views on tve‘s Inspiring Change YouTube channel, will win a round trip to COP22 in Marrakesh and a place as a youth reporter.
All films will remain available online for viewing as the tvebiomovies competition continues to run.
