5 Postdoctoral Positions, International Institute of Physics of the UFRN, Brazil (2016-2017)

The International Institute of Physics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (IIP-UFRN) is expecting to fill several post-doctoral research positions. Successful candidates should demonstrate a high level of expertise and strong academic record working in the areas of Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Information, Statistical Field Theory and Engineering of Quantum Devices; Strongly Correlated Electron Systems in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics; Classical Gravity and Gravitational Wave Physics, String Theory and Mathematical Physics. Strong ability of a candidate to conduct an interdisciplinary research in those fields will be considered as an additional merit by the Selection Committee.

The starting date for the positions is expected to be in the period between October 2016 and March 2017. The post-doctoral appointments will be for two years (extendible to two more years depending on mutual agreement) with a tax free monthly salary of R$ 7.000,00 (seven thousand Brazilian Reais). Priority will be given to applications received until October 1, 2016.
The IIP-UFRN is located in the city of Natal in the Northeast of Brazil. It is a research institute of an international character, focused on the theoretical research in the modern areas of fundamental physics.
