The CyI invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist in Climate Change and Vector-borne diseases. The successful candidate will further develop the Institute’s research on modelling the risk of transmission of Vector-Borne Diseases (VBD) under climate change, and, especially, mosquito-borne diseases over the eastern Mediterranean. The research will be carried out within the Atmosphere and Climate Division of EEWRC and will combine, climate modelling, epidemiology and environmentally-driven population dynamics, in collaboration with Imperial College.
Required Qualifications:
- A PhD in Environmental or Biological Sciences or equivalent
- At least four (4) years of postdoctoral or research experience in a relevant field
- Experience in stochastic modelling of population dynamics and bioinformatics
- Knowledge of and experience with high performance computing and statistical/graphical programming
- Presentation of scientific results to scientific and general audiences/Presentations in scientific conferences
- Participation in related research projects
- Publications in scientific journals
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player
- Excellent knowledge of English both verbal and writing
