The Division of Mathematics of the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is organising a Summer School in nonlinear Partial Differential Equations.
The School will run 20-24 June 2017 at the NTUA campus in Athens, Greece. The targeted audience are advanced undergraduate and graduate students in Mathematics. The courses to be taught are:
- Nonlinear wave equations and the stability of flat spacetime, by Mihalis Dafermos (University of Cambridge & Princeton University) and Georgios Moschidis (Princeton University)
- Nonlinear systems of conservation laws and related models in fluid dynamics and applied sciences, by Konstantina Trivisa (University of Maryland, College Park)
- The equations of nonlinear elasticity and related models, by Athanasios Tzavaras (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology)
There will also be a small number of colloquial talks. The courses and talks will be given in English.
There is no registration fee, but the number of participants is limited. Please apply by 23rd April. Financial assistance in the form of meals and lodging will be available to selected participants. We regret we cannot offer assistance with visa arrangements.
