ISC GDPR seminar II: The Impact of the General Data Protection Regulation on the use of personal data for science, in particular health science
ISC will on 27 April 2017 organize a seminar which will examine the impact of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on the operation of R&D and science and on collaborative research in the EU and globally. This will be a follow-up meeting to the ISC seminar, organised on 18 October 2016, and will aim to further address issues and concerns raised on that occasion.
One of the outcomes of the seminar held in October 2016 is a wide support for a code of conduct. Namely, the implementation of the GDPR foresees in Article 40 the establishment of codes of conduct as one of the means contributing to the proper application of the regulation. The seminar on 27 April 2017 will aim to address this, as well as explore the impact of the GDPR on research based organizations and how the scientific community can prepare for GDPR compliance; the use of personal data for health-related research; the European Open Science Cloud governance and data protection issues; and the global dimension of data sharing.
Participation in the seminar is free of charge.
