The Economic Chamber of Greece in cooperation with the Greek Parliamentary Budget Office, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Democritus University of Thrace and the University of Peloponnese, organize an International Conference on «A New Growth Model for the Greek Economy». The aim is to offer an international meeting point where Greek and foreign researchers could share ideas about a new growth model for the Greek Economy. The focus is on the new growth boosting policies for the future of the Greek economy.
In particular, the conference is structured into five sections:
The European Political Economy Evolution and the Greek Economy:
Managing the Exit from Financial Assistance; Lessons Drawn from the IMF-EU Program Supervisions; Contagion Effects.
Post-Crisis Challenges and Opportunities in the Greek Economy:
The Rebalancing in the Greek Economy: Success and Failure; Is there a new economic paradigm?; From Consumption Oriented Models to Export and Investment Approaches; Sectoral Approaches vs. Global Supply Chains Embodied.
The Long-term Prospects:
Competitiveness Issues; Productivity and Structural Changes; The Distribution Issues; The Demographic Issues; The Cultural Background Issues.
Macro Management for Growth Launching:
The Debt Sustainability Problem; Sovereign Debt and International Capital Markets; The Problem of Balance of Payments; Macroprudential Policies for the Banking Sector.
The Political Systems and the Growth Requirements:
The Public Management Fragility; the Generation and the Exodus from the Economic Crisis; The Institutional Setting as a Growth Break.

Awards
After a close review process by the conference’s scientific committee, best papers presented at the Conference will be awarded with an inclusion to an Edited Volume, published by Springer Publishing, on the topic of the conference.
