3 PhD Positions, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tampere, Finland (2018)

Health sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tampere invites applications for THREE DOCTORAL STUDENT POSITIONS. The duration of the position may be one to four years. Selected doctoral researchers must begin work between 1 January 2018 and 1 June 2018.

The applicants selected in the positions will pursue a doctoral degree in one of the doctoral programs of health sciences at the University of Tampere. The expected duration of full-time studies is four years. Fixed-term employment contracts may be drawn up for a period of one to four years; the length of the contract depends on the doctoral researcher’s current stage of studies and the expected graduation date.

The terms of the dissertation work are defined in the doctoral student’s personal study and supervision plan. Annual progress report are required. The personal study and supervision plan includes a detailed annual work schedule.

In addition to the thesis work, doctoral students are expected to teach or perform other duties related to their studies. These duties may not exceed five per cent of their total working hours.

Candidates should have a higher university degree, and be already registered as a doctoral student in one of the doctoral programs of health sciences, University of Tampere and have an approved study and research plan.
