The Centre of Excellence in Body-On-Chip Research (CoEBoC) started in January 2018 in the Academy of Finland's Centres of Excellence (CoE) program. The CoEBoC is a joint centre established by six research groups at the University of Tampere (UTA) and the Tampere University of Technology (TUT): Minna Kellomäki (TUT, consortium leader), Katriina Aalto-Setälä (UTA), Jari Hyttinen (TUT), Pasi Kallio (TUT), Susanna Miettinen (UTA) and Susanna Narkilahti (UTA).
We are looking for highly motivated persons able to develop their skills in multidispinary research environment.

Doctoral Researcher at the Centre of Excellence in Body-on-Chip Research
Centre of Excellence in Body-on-Chip Research (CoEBoC) at the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, the University of Tampere invites applications for fixed-term (one year) Doctoral Researcher position.
Doctoral Researcher position for the development of in vitro models for nerve innervation in target tissue blocks. This task studies the way nerve innervation affects the development of target tissue and the formation of vascularization and the way it controls tissue function. Both two and three-dimensional culturing systems are utilized.
The eligible candidates must have a Master’s degree in a field relevant to the research programme. Studies in fields such as stem cells and tissue engineering, biomaterials, neuroscience are of advance, but not necessary.
