The Hellenic Observatory seeks to appoint a Research Officer to facilitate sustained research and research coordination in the Hellenic Observatory.
The Research Officer will:
1. Mainly be responsible for preparing and project coordinating applications for research/project funding as relevant to the agenda of the Hellenic Observatory, as directed.
2. Have the opportunity to undertake some independent research on one or more projects of direct relevance to the interests of the Hellenic Observatory and to the public policy agenda in Greece. Applicants are invited to propose their own project to be delivered and completed within the 2 years.
3. Support the general research activities of the Hellenic Observatory.
You will have a completed PhD in the social sciences and have a comprehensive and substantial knowledge of contemporary Greece, together with evidence of publication and/or project delivery through independent original research.
You will have the ability to analyse and research complex ideas, concepts or theories, and experience of establishing context for research projects and (as appropriate) establishing databases and models; help draft research projects and grant applications; good team-working and communication skills.
