Since 2003, more than 400 students and scholars from 28 countries have traveled to Igalo, Montenegro to attend the European Union & Legal Reform Summer School, a weeklong post-graduate course organized by the CCSDD in cooperation with the Institute of Social Sciences Belgrade.
During the course, students attend an innovative series of lectures and roundtable discussions. The year 2018 marks a special year for the European Union which finds itself facing many new challenges but also looking for ways forward. What direction is the EU heading today? What would the Union look like without UK? What are the membership prospects for the Western Balkans?
Other issues that particularly intrigue jurists include movements toward independence such as the Catalan referendum, the Brexit negotiations, the EU’s relationship with its Eastern neighbors. How has the European Economic Constitution transformed through the financial crisis? Which are the new emerging institutional arrangements for the European governance?
This year’s edition of the Summer School will explore some of these issues and bring them in the context of the EU enlargement effort.
European Union and Legal Reform (EULR) Summer School is open to final-year undergraduate students and graduate students in Law and Political Science, as well as young professionals and scholars.
Venue: from July 8-14, 2018 in Igalo (Herceg-Novi), Montenegro.
