Are you curious to explore games as learning tools to develop political participation, inclusion and non violent communication? Would you like to learn how to introduce tips and principles of "gamification" in your educational work? Then, the game is on!
"Peace Games" is the second edition of a 8-days residential training course on Game-Based Learning promoted by the Czech organisation Dobroti.
The course aims to explore games and gaming methodologies of different types and on different platforms (social games, role playing games, boardgames, video and digital games, creativity expression exercises) and their application in educational activities.
The project will take place in the Czech Republic, close to the city of Olomouc, in the beautiful ecological centre Sluňákov (www.slunakov.cz/en), from the 26th of August to the 3rd of September 2018 (travel days included).
It will involve 24 participants from 12 different European countries (Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Germany, Greece, UK, Portugal, Ireland, Hungary and Slovenia).
The language of the training course will be English.
The objectives of the training course are:
• to define a positive approach to leadership and develop related skills;
• to explore games as learning tools to develop political participation, inclusion and non violent communication;
• to introduce tips and principles of "gamification" in education and training, and to discuss potential negative side effects;
• to empower trainers, youth workers and leaders to increase young people's participation to political life, reduce radicalization and xenophobia, promote a less violent society - and endow them with applicable tools.
