This project is a multi-activity event aimed to explore all the possible positive aspects of sport for developing intercultural acceptance and inclusion.
The first event is a training course for youth leader and youth workers and will take place 16-23 September 2018 in Cairo, Egypt.
The second event is a youth exchange and will take 14-23 February 2019 in Poronin, Poland. Applicants will have to committ to participate in both events.
With this call we are looking for 3 participants aged 18+ y.o - youth leaders/youth workers per country in the Training Course in Egypt (total 20 pax).
The participants of the TC will be later obliged to attend the Youth Exchange in Poronin in order to apply the methodologies created in the first part. The youth exchange will then bring 7 participants aged 18-30 per country (total 42 pax).
We believe that through interpersonal interactions with people of different cultures, traditions and religions we can better understand one another, break down prejudice and empower youth.
This Training Course aims to explore sports as a tool for unification and team building in the field of youth work. Together we will come up with methods using a non-formal education approach (sports) to create a manual for youth workers who are looking to teach intercultural communication and diversity in a fun and engaging way.
Youth workers from Europe and Northern African countries will gather together to not only engage in sporting activities to test the methodologies but also contribute their youth work experience to a bigger vision- access to inclusion based sporting methodologies for all youth.
We do not charge any participation fees. The travel to Cairo is made by the participants themselves and will be reimbursed upon receiving the second tranche of the grant around May 2019.
This training activity is funded by: The Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme
