Three positions are currently available at the Division for Experimental Feto-Maternal Medicine (Head Prof. Petra Arck) at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany.
Our lab has recently received funding to expand in new directions and we are seeking to recruit highly motivated new members. The lab offers excellent working conditions in a dynamic, collaborative, and international research environment. The working language is English. On campus, there is access to state of the art research infrastructure and facilities. The research group investigates immunological aspects of pregnancy and its consequences on offspring’s development. Our group is part of the Clinical Research Unit 296 ‘Feto-maternal immune cross talk’ (KFO296), a network chaired by Prof. Arck which engages more than 20 PI’s from different disciplines.
In the proposed projects, we are interested in the physiological and pathological immune, endocrine and epigenetic mechanisms involved in modulating pregnancy outcome and fetal development. In your research you will combine molecular and cellular biology techniques, immunology and/or epigenetic state of the art methods. You will employ in vitro and in vivo wild type and genetically modified models.
Applicants are expected to have a background in the fields of reproduction, immunology and/or epigenetics, as well as solid experience working with animal models and cellular/ molecular biology techniques. In the case of postdoctoral candidates, a list of presentations to conferences and publications evidencing the background/methodological expertise shall be provided. Communicational and team oriented skills, self-motivation and the intention of pursuing a career in Reproductive Biology, Immunology, or Epigenetics will be highly valued.
