5-7/6/2015- 4th European MD/PhD Conference 2015 (Groningen, the Netherlands)

Across Europe, ambitious and talented medical doctors complete a PhD before, during or shortly after their MD graduation. These MD PhD candidates have a unique role and associated responsibilities since they are the link between basic science and clinical practice. The 4th European MD/PhD conference aims to bring together MD/PhD candidates to offer them a scientific network, boost their talent, inspire one another and discuss their research and the future role of MD/PhD candidates in medicine.

Therefore, all European Medical PhDs who are doing their PhD during or following their MD are invited to discuss their research through various forms of presentations. Please make sure to send in your abstract before the deadline of March 31st. Furthermore, there will be inspiring lectures to attend and we have arranged several enthusing workshops that are relevant and talent boosting. And last but definitely not least, we have put together a social programme, which will partly take place at the icon of Groningen, the Martini Church.

Participants will be accredited with 1 ECTS for their attendance at the 4th European MD/PhD conference 2015.

We are not only inviting MD/PhD candidates, but also their faculty supervisors who enable their MD/PhD programmes. Faculty supervisors play a dominant role in developing MD/PhD programmes for their candidates and accepting projects. For these MD/PhD coordinators and other faculty members focussing on MD/PhD candidates, there will be a special meeting during the conference. In this workshop, we will discuss the goals, progress, differences and future options in the various MD/PhD programmes across Europe.
