Training Course: "Promotion of Youth Participation in rural and urban areas"

The training for Youth Workers will address the issue of youth participation and its crisis, and will help participants to understand how to effectively reach and involve young people coming from different contexts and backgrounds, in order to promote active participation and citizenships. Youth participation crisis is a phenomenon registered all over Europe, under diverse circumstances and in different ways. It can manifest in diverse phenomena such as NEET youngsters, violent radicalization against diversity, Euro-skepticism. Youth Work and non-formal education have a great potential in inspiring and involving youngsters in a creative and constructive way, taking in account the complexity and diversity of contemporary societies, of specific needs of local contexts (rural and urban ones) and individuals, especially those with fewer opportunities.
The training will gather Youth Workers from all over Europe, active in the non-formal education field, that would share experiences and personal perspectives about the topic. Participants will bring their professional competences and will share practices and expertise in order to study innovative methods to reach and involve actively the new generation of youngsters.
The activity will be led by a professional trainer from a local partner organisation. The trainer has specific competences and expertises in the work with youngsters coming from difficult backgrounds or with fewer opportunities. Moreover she worked as peacebuilder in coflict areas.
