The programme supports a research stay of 4–6 weeks in Leuven (or Turnhout). All fellowships cover accommodation and travel costs but are non-stipendiary. Applicants need to hold a PhD at the time of their application.
There will be six positions funded in 2025–2026:
Two (open) LECTIO Visiting Fellowships
One joint LECTIO & DigiSoc Visiting Fellowship
One joint LECTIO & Special Collections Visiting Fellowship
One joint LECTIO & Brepols Publishers Visiting Fellowship
One joint LECTIO & Trismegistos+ Visiting Fellowship
In addition to the funded fellowships, LECTIO also invites applications from scholars who would like to spend a research stay in Leuven with their own research funding (‘self-supporting’ fellowship).
