04-07/05/2016 - 1st International Balkan Child and Youth Literature Congress (Turkey)

The congress (IBCYL-2016) will be held in Trakya university Balkan Congress Centre between 04-07 May, 2016. The theme of the congress is determined as “The Child and Youth Literature for the Culture of Peace”.

The congress will be a sample of cultural diplomacy focused on child and youth literature.

The ideas of children and young people aged between 10-25 will be mentioned in the congress. It is aimed to introduce child and youth literature of Balkan countries in this very first congress.

Papers and workshops will be presented within the context of culture in child and youth literature.Leading child and youth literature researchers and authors will attend the congress as keynote speakers. Authors, illustrators, editors, critics and publishers of Balkan countries will meet in the congress. The exhibition of child book illustrators will be displayed during the congress. Bookstands will be open during the congress in order to introduce Balkan child and youth literature. Writer-Reader meeting sessions with the authors of child and youth literature will be organized in primary, secondary and high schools in Edirne.

Congress is organized at Trakya University Faculty of Education.
