Tην Τρίτη 13 Σεπτεμβρίου 2016 και ώρα 12.00-13.00, θα πραγματοποιηθεί διάλεξη με θέμα: "MIMO Radars based on Sparse Sensing and Matrix Completion " στο Αμφιθέατρο Κτιρίου Επιστημών στο Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης από την Καθηγήτρια Athina Petropulu του Πανεπιστημίου Rudgers (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering).
Περίληψη διάλεξης:
In civilian applications, there is increasing interest in networked radars that are cheap and have small form factors, yet they enable reliable surveillance of an area. Unfortunately, these requirements are competing in nature. A networked radar is a configuration of transmit and receive antennas, in which target estimation is achieved by jointly processing the signals from all receive antennas. This processing can be done at a fusion center, which collects the measurements of all receive antennas, possibly in a wireless fashion. Reliable surveillance requires collection, communication and fusion of vast amounts of data, which involves significant power and bandwidth overhead.
The talk will present a new networked MIMO radar system that relies on advanced signal processing techniques, such as sparse sensing and matrix completion (MC-MIMO radar), in order to achieve an optimal tradeoff between reliability and cost. MC-MIMO radars achieve “super-resolution'' in the angle, Doppler and range space, while limiting the amount of data measured and transmitted by each sensor through the network.
