10-12/01/2018 - Basel Winter School - Psychiatry and Psychology (Ελβετία)

The third Basel Winter School on Leadership and Professional Skill will take place in Basel, Switzerland from January 10-12, 2018. We are pleased to invite early career psychiatrists and psychologists to attend the course which will broaden their horizons, allow them to meet colleagues from different countries and acquire professional skills applicable both in their daily work and in their academic pursuits.

In an interdisciplinary and intercultural atmosphere, 16 participants will be offered the opportunity to learn and practice numerous highly relevant skills, i.e. how to:

• make a presentation
• write/read a paper
• chair a meeting
• answer complex or difficult questions
• effectively participate in a discussion
• produce a CV
• prepare a poster
• be elected
• prepare written or oral reports

Participants will furthermore be given a presentation on an innovative conception of addiction, possibly leading to new ways of treatment and new areas of research. Successful applicants will be expected to make a brief presentation (8 min.) on a subject of their choice and to bring along a poster (also on a subject of their choice). Participants will be provided board and lodging and will receive a Certificate of attendance at the course.
